We sent this company 4 pieces of furniture: 1 Victorian sofa and 1 Victorian chair; 2 reception side chairs.
I would not recommend this service for the following reasons:
- Workmanship is a bit sloppy; fabric not fitted properly to sofa - loose, rippling - had to redo
- Uses high school kid for certain parts of job, including actual upholstering (I witnessed this one day; also witnessed carelessness of removing old fabric by high school kid(s))
- Careless; noticed scratched legs when returned
- Side chairs had to be reworked due to lack of attention to detail;
- 3 sofa cushions not sized correctly - way too tight, popping up every time one got up, requiring constant adjustment
- Fabric pattern on sofa and 1 chair does not line up perfectly
- Not enough attention to details: cushion's firmness on one side chair didn't match up with other
- Owner and son very defensive to negative comments about workmanship, etc. Had excuses ready for any mistake we found with job.
- Unreliable: appointments with Sonny Sr., were missed several times: NO SHOW! NO CALL! Constantly had to chase him down. When reached, he'd be silent on the phone and act like he had no idea why I was calling him. Would not call when he said he would.
- Would not return phone calls in timely manner, especially once job was accepted and/or completed and delivered. Many times when I called over a problem, he would avoid me - said he couldn't talk - said he had customer present (which is unlikely, since his son told me customers usually don't stop by; I made several visits to his shop and that was indeed the case) or he said he was on another call and would return my call, but never did.
