I play poker Thursday nights down at the clubhouse. We're a friendly group, and are always willing to let new folks join us. If our table is full, we'll split into two tables, and we'd keep doing that until we ran out of tables if we had to. Even then, if you wanted to join us, one of us would probably stand up and offer to take a break.. we just think that's the way it should be.

I've been told that there are other players who won't let new folks join. I don't think that's right: if you want a private game, you should play at someone's house, not at the clubhouse.
