To the Residents of Oak Point:
My name is Al Rullo and I am
announcing my re-election bid for selectman for the town of Middleboro.
I have been a lifelong resident of the town with my wife Nancy of thirty
nine years where we have raised two children. I served and was
honorably discharged from the US Army after serving two years in the
Finance Corp. I hold a degree in Business Administration with a major
in accounting from Suffolk University.
Prior to my recent retirement,
my career included; working for one of the world's largest international
public accounting firms where I earned my CPA, and later for a $6 billion
dollar international manufacturing company as a controller. My experience
included opening manufacturing plants around the world, buying and selling
companies, developing, monitoring and analyzing annual operating plans.
It has been by honor and pleasure
to serve as your selectman for the past year. I believe my career as
a CPA and Financial Executive has brought a valuable skill set to the
town during these challenging financial times. I have kept an open mind,
listened to all sides and educated myself on an issue before making
a decision. Sorting though alternatives and making tough decisions is
what leadership is all about and I believe that I have provided that
leadership not only by making well informed decisions but by keeping
the process open and transparent.
If I am re-elected I plan to
continue to focus on financial discipline, process improvement and fostering
an environment which encourages commercial and industrial development.
Financial Discipline:
I will take the lead in developing
financial guidelines to insure the town has a map to insure consistent
financial practices are being followed and the review of interim financial
results to insure any necessary mid-year corrections are addressed.
Process Improvements:
Follow thru on the BOS objectives
such as review of process for Earth Removal Permits and a review of
process and procedures for hearing which take place before the BOS.
Commercial and Industrial Development:
Continue to take our case to
our state legislative delegation for the need for infrastructure improvements
needed to complete the realization of development for South Point and
the Middleboro Industrial Park.
I look forward to seeing you
around town and discussing the many issues facing our community. I am
asking for your support and vote for my candidacy for selectman for
the town of Middleboro.
Thank you,
Al Rullo
