Update 8/8/2007: my wife says there are no more signs - it seems to be all done!
I had several people tell me that Plain Street is now open. It is not.
I'm not saying you absolutely cannot get through to Plymouth Street; you can, and I did just that this morning (8/3/2007). But they were still working paving driveway ends, and I had to wait while a cop directed traffic coming from Plymouth Street.
At the Plymouth Street end is a sign that says "Road Closed" and "No through Traffic". Again, you probably CAN get through, but officially, no.
I've been told that there was another sign out there telling Oak Pointers to use Route 105. Apparently that was from a homeowner on Plain Street. You could look at that as a helpful gesture: Plain Street might be blocked, you should use Route 105 (or Precinct Street - bumpety-bump). Or you could interpret that as an unfriendly "don't use OUR road" sentiment.
I didn't notice that sign today. I'm going to pretend it was a helpful piece of advice from a concerned citizen who worries about our welfare.
And THAT apparently was an Oak Point sign.. as I hoped, just being helpful.
