The Future of Middleborough Trust (FOMT) was formed in 2008 by a group of concerned citizens and has filed for tax exempt status as a charity. The goal of FOMT is to work for the benefit of the people of Middleborough.

Recognizing that Middleborough has a diverse population, and the incidence of maladies like Autism and Alzheimers, Downs Syndrome, and other related diseases, and that one of the real problems is the tendency of people afflicted with these ailments is to wander and lose their way, FOMT has decided that it's first project will be the implementation of PROJECT LIFESAVER in the Town of Middleborough.

This effort will raise money to purchase a tracking device that will be located in the Middleborough police station. People at risk for losing their way can be given a bracelet that can be tracked using the device. In the event that a person is reported missing, rescue personnel can rapidly locate and assist the individual.
