Oak Point had its annual Flamingo Fling dinner and dance this past Friday night. Dinner was turkey, steak tips, stuffing, mashed potato and squash - I don't know who the caterer was, but it was very good. The band was "Splash" and they were fun and enjoyable too.

The theme for this party is, of course, Flamingos. There were plenty of Flamingo statues, hats, necklaces, and pink shirts, pink dresses, pink socks.. I saw one man who had died his hair and mustache pink.

Some men are reluctant to wear pink. Many of those wore blue, perhaps to make the statement that they were not wearing anything even remotely close to a "feminine" color. However, those were in the minority as most get into the spirit of the party and at least don a pink shirt.

Some of us, more secure in what is left of our masculinity, may have gone a little too far..
