Citizens of Middleboro
My name is Ed Beaulieu. My wife and I moved into Oak Point nearly 10 years ago, and are very proud to call Middleboro our home town. We were founding members of the Oak Point Homeowners Scholarship Fund and the annual food and toy collections at Oak Point for the needy of the town. As a US Navy Hospital Corpsman and Nuclear Medicine Technologist during the Vietnam Era, I became involved with the Oak Point Veterans Association, and then the Middleboro Veterans Council, of which I am a Past Commander. I was part of the Middleboro Veterans' Memorial Park Committee, and was involved in the design and construction of The Memorial Park on the Town Hall lawn. I also served for nearly two years as the Chairman of the Committee that brought "The Moving Wall" to Middleboro in 2008. I serve on the Resort Advisory Committee and am a member of the B & I Committee. I am the founder of The Future of Middleborough Trust and we are currently raising funds to implement "Project Lifesaver" in Middleboro.
I
am a retired computer network engineer and have varied experience in
business and the medical field. I am currently a local businessman,
and am readily available. During my career, I have extensive experience
in chairing and running meetings based on parliamentary procedure. In
our previous home town, I served on the Finance Committee and the Industrial
development Commission. I was also involved in the Boy Scout program
for many years, and served as, Cub Master, Scout Master, and Explorer
Advisor. I have 2 grown sons who are both Eagle Scouts.
Town
Meeting is the last true vestige of the Democratic Process, where every
registered voter has the right and opportunity to address any and all issues
that come before the body. Having participated in Town Meetings for
over thirty years, I feel that Moderator is the most important elected
official in town, and that my varied experience will serve me well in
the position.
I
ask for you support on April 4, 2009.
Thank you
Edward J. Beaulieu Jr.
