For some time, I have been wondering why we don't have a curbside recycling plan at Oakpoint as we did in my hometown of Wollaston. B.F.I. had a very successful and efficient plan in place. Every home had there own “B.F.I. Blue Container" which they filled weekly with newspapers, magazines, plastic bottles and cans and were put out on the same day as the trash was collected.
Although I never looked into it, I'm quite sure there were additional costs to the community even though the recycled goods were sold for profit. It would be interesting to find out if "Oak point Homes" has looked into such a possible recycling plan and the conclusions reached. I'm quite sure a lot of our residents would support such a plan if affordable.
With conservation on the minds of most Americans now-a-days, I thought this might be an ideal time to look into it.
