There's been a short power failure, the weather is a little cool, and that darn "heat tape light" in your bathroom is on. You know the power wasn't really off long enough to freeze the pipes, but it was long enough to trip the alarm light. How do you reset it?
It's actually easy. Go to your circuit breaker and find the room where your water heater is installed. You aren't looking for the water heater circuit itself, just the room where it is. In my home, that's the spare bedroom. Reset that circuit breaker (turn it off and then on) and your heat tape light will be reset. It's that easy!
