Last year, I mentioned using Bubble Wrap at High Heating Bills. We felt it was worth the small amount of work to put up, especially for our slider doors. Apparently we aren't the only crazy people who do this.
We bought that big roll you see in the first picture from Uline.com. It's self-sticking, S - 814P 3/16 x 12 x 300 Perforated , and currently sells there for $43.00 a roll. I don't know how many times you can re-use it, but I bet it's good for a few years at least and maybe longer with some help from Scotch Tape. That one roll is 300 square feet; we'll probably use less than 50 feet of it to cover what we need to (we only do the slider and the windows at the back of the house). You can double up on it too - it will stick to itself as well as to glass.
I prefer putting it up in short sections because it's easier to position than long strips, though cutting it to exact fit certainly is more attractive.
You can feel the difference instantly - if Linda would let me put it on the front windows, I absolutely would!
