My Wife's Gardens

I'm a little hesitant to put up a picture of the gardens at my own home here at Oak Point, but I'm really not tooting my own horn: other then digging a few holes and watering when I'm told to, I don't have any reponsibility for this.

It's all Linda, my wife. She picks out the plants, decides where they are going to go, tells me how much fertilizer and water to give them and everything else. She's the architect, designer, and general contractor in this area; I'm just hired help.

Gardens are never static with Linda: she is constantly changing her mind, finding something fresh and exciting that simply has to have a place found for it, moving this to give that more room to grow, cutting back that, worrying about bugs on this plant, concerned that the other got too much water: she puts her heart and soul into it. Unfortunately her health problems do limit her; she cannot do the work she once could do, but gardening is still an important part of her life and always will be.

And even though I grumble now and then because I've got to move a shrub I just moved not even a month ago, I am proud of her and her gardens. Good job, honey, and if I grumble, just point the hose at me.
